En el primer discurso de la sesión, el élder David A. Bednar, del Cuórum de los Doce Apóstoles, destacó el ritmo a menudo frenético de la vida moderna y “el ajetreo, el ruido, los desvíos, las distracciones y los rodeos que tan frecuentemente parecen exigir nuestra atención”.
Sin embargo, “a medida que el fundamento de nuestra vida se edifica sobre el Salvador, somos bendecidos para ‘quedar[nos] tranquilos‘; para tener la seguridad espiritual de que Dios es nuestro Padre Celestial, nosotros somos Sus hijos y Jesucristo es nuestro Salvador”, dijo el élder Bednar.
El élder Bednar fue uno de los tres apóstoles que hablaron durante la sesión de la tarde del 6 de abril: El élder Gerrit W. Gong, del Cuórum, también habló con el élder Quentin L. Cook ofreciendo el discurso final.
“Se puede alcanzar la unidad con Cristo y con nuestro Padre Celestial por medio de la Expiación del Salvador”, testificó el élder Cook.
No existen requisitos relacionados con la raza, el género o el grupo étnico para el bautismo; todos los requisitos son espirituales y todas las personas están invitadas a participar de la bondad del Señor, dijo.
Un coro combinado de BYU-Idaho interpretó “Honor, loor y gloria”, “El Padre tanto nos amó”, “Jesús, en la corte celestial” y “We Will Sing of Zion” [”Cantaremos de Sion”] bajo la dirección de Paul Busselberg, Randall Kempton, Eda Ashby y Atina Coates con Joseph Peeples y Linda Margetts como organistas.
