El discurso final de la conferencia general de octubre de 2024 fue más que la conclusión de una conferencia que ya pasó; fue una visión de esperanza para el futuro.
“Lo mejor está por venir, mis queridos hermanos y hermanas, ¡porque el Salvador viene de nuevo!”, testificó el presidente de la Iglesia, Russell M. Nelson. “...Lo mejor está por venir porque el Señor está apresurando Su obra. Lo mejor está por venir conforme volvamos por completo nuestro corazón y nuestra vida a Jesucristo”.
En la sesión del domingo por la tarde de la conferencia, el presidente Nelson invitó a los oyentes a consagrar nuevamente sus vidas a Jesucristo.
“Este es el momento de que hagamos de nuestro discipulado nuestra máxima prioridad”.
Al comienzo de su mensaje, el presidente Nelson también anunció las ubicaciones de 17 templos nuevos.

El élder Dieter F. Uchtdorf, del Cuórum de los Doce Apóstoles, habló sobre cómo nutrir la fe en el Salvador para soportar las pruebas e incertidumbres de la vida.
“Jesucristo y Su sacrificio expiatorio son la raíz de nuestro testimonio”, dijo. “Todo lo demás son ramas”.
El élder Ronald A. Rasband, del Cuórum de los Doce Apóstoles, invitó a los oyentes a apoyar o “sostener” al Profeta al seguir su consejo y enseñar sus palabras.
Dijo: “Sostenemos la luz del Señor cuando nos aferramos a nuestros convenios y cuando apoyamos a nuestro profeta viviente cada vez que pronuncia las palabras de Dios”.
El élder Quentin L. Cook, del Cuórum de los Doce Apóstoles, testificó que las Escrituras ayudan a construir un fundamento de fe.
“Las Sagradas Escrituras y los profetas vivientes son un medio importante con el que un amoroso Padre Celestial pone Su plan de felicidad a disposición de todos Sus hijos”, dijo.
El élder D. Todd Christofferson, del Cuórum de los Doce Apóstoles, dirigió esta sesión. El élder Ahmad S. Corbitt, Setenta Autoridad General, ofreció la oración de apertura, y la hermana Tamara W. Runia, segunda consejera de la presidencia general de las Mujeres Jóvenes, ofreció la oración de clausura.
El Coro del Tabernáculo de la Manzana del Templo, dirigido por Mack Wilberg y Ryan Murphy, con los organistas Brian Mathias y Andrew Unsworth, interpretó “Alabado, sea el Señor con el corazón y la voz”, “Tan sólo con pensar en Ti” y “En tu corazón entona una canción”, concluyendo con “Y la gloria del Señor” de Handel.
