La sesión del sábado por la noche de la Conferencia General Anual N° 194 de La Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días contó con cinco oradores, incluyendo al élder Uchtdorf.
La hermana Andrea Muñoz Spannaus, segunda consejera de la presidencia general de las Mujeres Jóvenes, habló directamente a los jóvenes de la Iglesia en su discurso titulado “Fiel hasta el fin”.
El Antiguo Testamento declara que David llevó cinco piedras consigo para derrotar a Goliat, aunque solo necesitó una.
La hermana Spannaus se preguntó qué fortalezas podrían representar estas piedras. Ella dijo: “Yo pensé en estas posibilidades:
La piedra de mi amor por Dios.
La piedra de mi fe en nuestro Salvador Jesucristo.
La piedra del conocimiento de mi verdadera identidad.
El élder Shayne M. Bowen, Setenta Autoridad General, testificó que los milagros no han cesado, en su mensaje “Milagros, ángeles y el poder del sacerdocio”.
“Si desean las bendiciones del sacerdocio, incluidos los milagros y la ministración de ángeles, los invito a caminar por la senda de los convenios que Dios ha puesto al alcance de cada uno de nosotros”, dijo.
En su discurso titulado “Preordenados para servir”, el élder Steven R. Bangerter, Setenta Autoridad General, dijo: “Antes de nacer, Dios los designó a cada uno de ustedes para cumplir misiones específicas durante su vida terrenal. Si permanecen dignos, las bendiciones de ese decreto preterrenal les permitirán tener todo tipo de oportunidades en esta vida, incluso oportunidades de servir en la Iglesia y de participar en la obra más importante que se lleva a cabo hoy en la tierra: el recogimiento de Israel”.
El élder Matthew L. Carpenter, Setenta Autoridad General, habló sobre las bendiciones eternas de ser fieles al convenio del matrimonio en su discurso titulado “El fruto que permanece”.
“Es importante comprender que para recibir las bendiciones de la exaltación debemos demostrar que estamos dispuestos a entrar en este nuevo y sempiterno convenio y a guardarlo fielmente, ya sea en esta vida o en la venidera”, dijo.
El élder Dale G. Renlund del Cuórum de los Doce Apóstoles dirigió la sesión. El élder Alfred Kyungu, Setenta Autoridad General, ofreció la primera oración, y el hermano Milton Camargo, primer consejero de la presidencia general de la Escuela Dominical, ofreció la última oración.
La música estuvo a cargo del Coro del Instituto Utah Valley, dirigido por Matt Johnson y Marshall McDonald, y acompañados por Linda Margetts y Joseph Peeples en el órgano. Cantaron “El Señor es mi luz”, “Oh, qué canciones del corazón”, “Cuenta tus bendiciones” y “Sublime gracia”.
