La Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días dio la bienvenida a la temporada navideña con el Devocional de Navidad de la Primera Presidencia el domingo 7 de diciembre.
Como orador de clausura en la transmisión del domingo por la noche, el presidente Henry B. Eyring, primer consejero de la Primera Presidencia, testificó tanto del amor como de la esperanza del Salvador e invitó a los oyentes a compartir ese amor y esa esperanza con sus seres queridos esta Navidad mediante sencillos actos de bondad.
“Cuando somos bondadosos y servimos a los demás como lo haría el Salvador, incluso en las formas más pequeñas, podemos convertirnos en un canal de la gracia de Dios para ayudar a que quienes están dentro de nuestro círculo de influencia sientan el amor y la esperanza del Salvador — J’aime, j’espère”, declaró el presidente Eyring.

El presidente de la Iglesia, Dallin H. Oaks, y el presidente D. Todd Christofferson, segundo consejero de la Primera Presidencia, asistieron pero no hablaron durante la transmisión navideña. El devocional marcó el primer evento público de la nueva Primera Presidencia desde que fueron apartados hace aproximadamente dos meses.
Al dirigir el devocional, el élder Patrick Kearon, del Cuórum de los Doce Apóstoles, extendió el “amor y los más cálidos saludos navideños” de los líderes de la Iglesia a los Santos de los Últimos Días, así como a sus familias y amigos en todo el mundo.
“Al entrar en esta época sagrada, oramos para que sean bendecidos con la paz, la esperanza y el amor que se manifiestan mediante el Don salvador y redentor de Jesucristo”, dijo el élder Kearon.
